Last-minute Galápagos cruises
We are a local agency based in Puerto Ayora, so we hear about free cabins the moment they open up. Last-minute cruise deals can save you a lot compared with booking months ahead. Send us your dates and we will check every boat with space for you.
Why take a Galápagos cruise?
A cruise is the way to reach the most remote islands of the archipelago, the ones you cannot visit on a day tour: Genovesa, Fernandina, western Isabela, Santiago, Rábida or Española. While you sleep, the boat sails to the next island, and every morning you wake up somewhere new, with guided landings, hikes and snorkeling.
Every Galápagos cruise travels with a naturalist guide certified by the Galápagos National Park and follows Park-approved itineraries, so each boat has fixed routes and a limited number of spaces.
Types of cruises and yachts
Tourist superior
Comfortable yachts with good value for money. Cabins with private bathroom and air conditioning, ideal for travelers who care more about the islands than about luxury.
First class
Larger cabins, social areas and better food. A great option for couples and families looking for more comfort.
Luxury
High-end yachts and catamarans with few cabins, personalized service and extras such as a jacuzzi or suites with balcony.
We work with yachts such as Passion, Archipel, Galaxy, Bonita, Grand Daphne, Tip Top II and Tip Top V, plus other boats depending on your dates and budget.
How many days do I need?
| Length | Best for |
|---|---|
| 4 days / 3 nights | Travelers short on time who want a taste of the remote islands. |
| 5 days / 4 nights | The most popular balance between time, islands visited and budget. |
| 8 days / 7 nights | Travelers who want a full route (north, south, east or west) and the widest variety of wildlife. |
Many travelers combine a short cruise with a few days on land in Santa Cruz or Isabela for day tours, diving or relaxing on the beach.
What does a cruise usually include?
- Cabin with private bathroom.
- All meals on board, water, coffee and tea.
- Bilingual naturalist guide and all excursions in the itinerary.
- Snorkeling gear (many boats also have wetsuits and kayaks).
- Transfers between the airport and the boat on the first and last day.
Usually not included: flights to Galápagos, the Transit Control Card (TCT), the National Park entrance fee, alcoholic drinks and tips.
Cruise or land-based day tours?
| Cruise | Day tours | |
|---|---|---|
| Remote islands | Yes: Genovesa, Fernandina, western Isabela… | Only islands close to the ports |
| Sailing | At night, while you sleep | There and back on the same day |
| Flexibility | Fixed itinerary | You choose what to do each day |
| Budget | Higher investment | More affordable |

Frequently asked questions
When is the best time for a cruise?
Galápagos can be visited all year round. From December to May the sea is calmer and the water warmer; from June to November the water is cooler and there is more marine life.
Will I get seasick?
Yachts sail mostly at night. If you are sensitive to motion, bring seasickness pills, choose a cabin on a lower deck in the middle of the boat, and prefer catamarans, which are more stable.
Can children and older travelers join?
Yes. Some boats have a minimum age, and some landings include walks over volcanic rock. Tell us who is traveling and we will recommend the right boat and route.
How far in advance should I book?
Ideally 3 to 6 months ahead, especially for July, August and December. Since we are on the islands, we can also find last-minute spaces when there is availability.
What should I pack?
Light clothes, a jacket for the evening, reef-safe sunscreen, a cap, walking shoes and water sandals.
